Illini Christian Ministries
Illini Christian Ministries
Illini Christian Ministries started in 1967. Their mission 'is to offer children and families guidance, nourishment and salvation through current and relevant Christian social services.' Their vision is of 'children and families who are strengthened, restored, and saved by the love of Jesus and of local churches who are supported, undergirded and strengthened by Illini Christian Ministries social services.' The home office of the ministry is in St Joseph, Illinois.

In the early years, several houses were built to accommodate house parents and children. Counselors were added to the staff as time went on. A few years ago, because of new restrictions and rules from the State of Illinois, the ministry began to shift their emphasis to the Foster Parent program. They also promote adoption as an option for young mothers. This has been received very well. Janet Woodrum is the financial officer of the ministry. The phone number is 217-469-7566.
