Our History
Second Church of Christ exists today thanks to more than a century of faithful leaders. We began in 1899 as a result of Firs
t Church of Christ's need to expand and reach other parts of the city and we have never stopped expanding. From a small group of 75 people we have grown to a congre gation of over 1000 in weekly attendance. Faith has brought us from a small building on Bowman Avenue to enlarge that 
building in 1949 and again in 1959 and to move from that 6000 square foot building to a 25,000 square foot building at our current location on Voorhees & Lynch in 1983. But that wasn't enough, faith called again and we doubled our building size in 2003 
to its present size of over 50,000 square feet and continue to follow God's leading to reach the lost and give the believers a home to worship in.
