How long at current position:  I began working for Second November 2002.

 

Family:   Wife, Stephanie (my right hand in ministry; could not do it without her) 1 son; Riley (born 1/7/96) 1 daughter; Olivia  (born 3/22/97) 1 dog; Hunter (birthdate unknown)

 

Favorite Restaurant:  Outback Steakhouse

 

Favorite Book:   My most recent favorite book would have to be "The Year of Living Biblically"   I've always enjoyed reading books by John Grisham as well.

 

Favorite Scripture:   My life verse is Job 23:10-  "But he knows the way that I take; when he has tested me, I will come forth as gold."

Favorite Sport:  I would have to say tennis.  It's the only one that I am really decent at playing and enjoy the most. 

 

Favorite Candy:  I really like Bubble Gum.  Like to blow really big bubbles!

 

If you were a super hero, what would your super power be:   I would like the super power of being able to duplicate myself so I actually would have enough time to get the things done I need to do and not have to rush.

 

Personal Quirks:   Where do I start?  My most obvious quirks are the fact that I am very organized and clean for a guy.   If you walk through the office here you will notice that mine is always the neatest and cleanest of anyone's. 

 

Collect Anything:  Mostly antiques and especially anything to do with gas stations or convenience stores.

 

Favorite Vacation Spot:  Anything related to a beach.  Also, a place where I don't have to "learn" anything or talk much.

 

What do love about Second:  I love the people at Second.  Unlike any church we have ever been at, I find that the people here are genuine and not false about who they are.  If they struggle with something, rather than hide it, they will come to you for help.  I also love the fact that God put so much musical talent in one place.  It sure makes my job a lot easier!

 

A little more about me:   Unlike some of the rest of the staff here (and staff at most churches), I came to Second from the business world.  I worked at Marathon Oil for the first 13 years of my career and for the last 7 years we have owned and operated our family business, Riley's Market.  Riley's is a covenience store in Covington, Indiana that is a dream come true for me.  Even as a child, I had hoped to run a store of my own.  Riley's gives me a chance to really have an impact on people's life in my own community.  I do work at Second full-time, but I also have the responsibility of running a large scale small business so it keeps me busy.  I love the opportunities I have had at Second to work with the music program.  It has been incredibly rewarding as I see people grow in their God-given talents and as I get the chance to play with a talented group of musicians each Sunday.  I feel blessed and always thank God for the opportunity to work full-time in Christian Ministry.
